Carl Bordeaux, CPSRP, is a facilitator, consultant, and recovery professional with over 15 years of experience in behavioral health and recovery support, and a career spanning multiple decades across human services, clinical care, community-based systems, and structured operational environments.
He brings more than 3,000 hours of group facilitation and more than 3,000 hours of one-on-one peer counseling, with extensive experience in clinical case management, substance use counseling, and multidisciplinary care. His background includes program operations, staff development, and system coordination across the full continuum of care — from emergency shelter services to residential recovery environments to psychosocial rehabilitation settings.
His clinical and peer support work within the VA Connecticut Healthcare System's Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program included veterans spanning the full spectrum of background and prior status — including Special Operations veterans and individuals who held or currently hold C-Suite executive roles — all engaged within a structured, dignity-centered environment in which prior status was not a factor in admission or care.
Carl currently serves as a Consultant and Facilitator with the Yale University Department of Psychiatry's Sawubona Project, where he leads culturally grounded healing circles rooted in principles such as Ubuntu. He also serves as a Sawubona Healing Circle Facilitator in partnership with the Association of Black Psychologists, supporting the Greater Washington Urban League through its Black Fatherhood Blueprint initiative. In addition, Carl facilitates Stephanie Covington's Helping Men Recover curriculum, delivering gender-responsive programming that supports men in rebuilding identity, strengthening relationships, and developing sustainable recovery pathways.
His work integrates lived experience, structured facilitation, and systems-level insight to create environments where individuals, organizations, and communities can move toward healing, connection, and lasting transformation.
