Meet Carl

Carl Bordeaux, CPSRP

Founder & Executive Principal

ASK Global Enterprises

Carl Bordeaux is a facilitator, consultant, and recovery professional with over 15 years of experience in behavioral health, recovery support, and human-centered systems. He brings more than 3,000 hours of group facilitation and more than 3,000 hours of one-on-one peer counseling, with extensive experience spanning clinical care, community-based programs, and organizational consulting.

His clinical and peer support work within the VA Connecticut Healthcare System's Psychosocial Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program included veterans spanning the full spectrum of background and prior status — including Special Operations veterans and individuals who held or currently hold C-Suite executive roles — all engaged within a structured, dignity-centered environment in which prior status was not a factor in admission or care.

Carl currently serves as a Consultant and Facilitator with the Yale University Department of Psychiatry's Sawubona Project and as a facilitator of Stephanie Covington's Helping Men Recover curriculum.

Introducing SHIFT

Impact in Practice

Every environment has moments that can go wrong fast — conflict, frustration, disconnection. SHIFT is ASK's framework for navigating those moments without losing people. Built on one governing principle: maintain or restore dignity while not producing or reproducing harm. What follows is what that looks like when applied, with real people.

Sawubona Healing Circle - Yale Sawubona Project, Yale University Department of Psychiatry

When strong ideological disagreement emerged in a racially and emotionally charged group setting, structured recognition — "we see you, we hear you" — allowed a participant to express and hold her position without triggering escalation, fragmentation, or forced resolution. The circle closed with every participant's dignity intact and the group's cohesion preserved.

Helping Men Recover, A Program For Treating Addiction, 2nd Edition — Stephanie Covington

A participant experiencing perceived disrespect and reactive impulses was guided to shift focus from what others were doing to what he could control — his own responses. What began as frustration became a self-awareness moment. He recognized the pattern extended beyond the group room into his daily life, and accepted the group environment as a place to practice the regulation he needed everywhere else.

Sawubona Healing Circle — Association of Black Psychologists / Greater Washington Urban League Black Fatherhood Blueprint

When an operational disruption threatened to introduce reactive energy into the facilitator team before a scheduled healing circle, a direct conversation about timing, boundaries, and role clarity de-escalated the situation before it could affect the session environment or the broader partnership. No reactive communication was sent. No relationship was damaged. The collaboration remained intact.

FAQS

What does ASK Global Enterprises do?

ASK Global Enterprises is a consulting and facilitation training organization that works with individuals, organizations, and communities navigating change, challenge, and growth. Our work spans business and strategic planning, behavioral health and recovery support, training and facilitation, and systems and framework development. Every engagement begins with listening — and is designed around your specific goals, environment, and needs.

How do I know if ASK is the right fit for my organization?

If your organization is working through a complex challenge, building or strengthening a program, supporting people through recovery or transition, or looking for structured facilitation or training — ASK may be a strong fit. We work across a range of sectors including behavioral health, nonprofit, community-based programs, government, healthcare, and education. The best starting point is a conversation. We'll listen first and be direct about whether and how we can help.

What does working with ASK look like?

Every engagement is structured collaboratively. We begin by understanding your needs, goals, and current situation — then design an approach that is practical and aligned with your context. Depending on what you're working toward, that may look like consulting, facilitation training, structured group experiences, or an integrated combination. ASK does not offer one-size-fits-all solutions. The process is intentional from the first conversation.
